How does an in-home consultation work?

You simply call or email and we’ll set an appointment at a time that is convenient for you.  Your appointment will consist of discussing your project, viewing sample books/fabrics, measuring and quoting your project.  If you wish to come in to the showroom to preview fabric samples or check out books before your appointment, just let us know and we’ll arrange it.

Can’t I get drapery through any window coverings dealer?

Most dealers will say that they offer drapery, but to be a drapery designer takes an additional skill level that not all dealers can offer.  Your drapery specialist should be skilled not only in helping you choose fabrics, but also in measuring, calculating yardage/pattern repeats, choosing the right lining, making recommendations of proper scale/size and fabrication techniques.

What if I need a repair?

All of our window coverings are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.  There are some slight differences from product to product but generally the warranty guarantees that your product remain free of defects, manufacturing errors, parts failure and the like.  Warranties on cords vary somewhat – typically 5-7 years. (All materials are liable to fade after prolonged exposure to the sun, however, we can make recommendations for products that resist fading better than others.)  If you should need a repair, please contact us and we will discuss whether your blind can be fixed locally or must be returned to the manufacturer – in most cases, we can provide local servicing of your window coverings.

What is the turn-around time for window coverings?

All of our products are custom fitted to your windows' specifications.  Blinds & shades typically take approximately 2 weeks from the time they are ordered until they arrive and then your installation will be scheduled.  Some shutters are ready in as little as two weeks, others take 6-8 weeks, depending on the manufacturer.  Custom window treatments (drapery, valances, cornices, etc) as well as upholstery is typically a 6-week turnaround from the time the fabric arrives - special arrangements can be made for rush orders.  All of these time frames are approximations and can vary due to circumstances.
